The Intercontinental Hotel at the London O2 Arena opened in 2014 and includes the largest clear span ballroom in the UK.

Our brief was to create a second clear span ballroom below the existing main event space replacing 2-decks of hotel car parking.

The complex project saw us working closely with the engineering specialists to resolve the structural, acoustic and environmental requirements for the new function room.

We worked with the hotel operational team to agree optimum solutions for new and separate guest / delegate entrances and access arrangements, creating a functional and sub-divisible ballroom with the “wow” for a 5-star hotel and appropriate servicing, kitchen and ancillary spaces.

All achieved without having to close the ballroom above.
